Game results and playoff stats are updated for the first round of the playoffs.
Special congratulations also go to this week's top QB and WR, Frank Sarlo and Jimmy Hartman. Those guys stepped up in a win-or-go-home situation, and the Raiders finnally replaced Frank with a stud WR!
The Patriots will play the Rams at 8:30 on Nov 8th, and the Raiders will take on the Vikings at 9:30.
The playoff picture is coming into focus, but the 4th spot is still up for grabs.
The Rams and Vikings are guaranteed the top two spots; the Rams would earn the #1 seed with a win.
The Patriots are guaranteed to be the #3 seed.
The Seahawks, Raiders and Dolphins are all in the hunt, but the Seahawks are in the driver's seat. They own the head-to-head tiebreaker over both teams and will lock up the 4th spot with a victory. The Raiders need a win and a Seahawks loss. Finally, the Dolphins need to win and need both the Seahawks and Raiders to lose. Should be a wild finish on Sunday!
The Rams and Bengals started before the heavy rains kicked in. The Rams defense smothered the water-soaked Bengals offense with 3 picks from 3 different players, and the Rams offense wasn't slowed by the bad weather.
The Raiders outlasted the Dolphins in a (mostly) defensive struggle. Frank Sarlo was a bright spot for the Raiders with a 7 for 9 2 TD performance. If he were only able to catch the damn ball ...
The Vikings and Patriots locked up in a 4-4 tie. Chris Correira showed off his league-leading defensive skills with 2 picks and 1 defensive TD.
The Rams jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back as they clamped down on the Patriots offense. Ron Davidson led the Rams with 8 grabs, 3 TDs, 1 Bomb and a critical sack.
The Seahawks and Benglas locked up in a track meet, which appears to be a recurring theme for both teams. In the end, the Bengals star receivers Mike and Mike (Newsome and Mathews) combined for 11 catches, 6 TDs and 3 bombs.
In the finale, the Vikings outlasted the Raiders 6-4. The game started off even with the Raiders having a chance to take a 5-4 lead. In the end the Vikings defense took control with 3 picks and 1 defensive TD in the last 4 Raider possesions.
The Rams and Vikings locked up in an instant classic with the Rams starring in the 1st half and the Vikings starring in the 2nd half. In the end it came down to a pair of defensive stops in the 10th to end in a 5-5 tie. Somewhere Bud Selig is smiling.
The Dolphins and Begals went bomb happy with 4 official deep TDs and another couple long balls. In the end the Dolphins had too much fire power for the Bengals.
The Seahawks bested the depleted Raiders with an efficient passing game and a big pick from their stumbling, bumbling, rumbling QB. We'll be sure to have oxygen on the sidelines next week.
The Rams and Seahawks locked up in a rematch of last year's playoffs. Both teams started out hot, but the Rams got the key stops to remain undeafeated for the season.
The Patriots and Dolphins started in the other direction with both teams struggling to score. This one ultimately came down to the final possession with the Dolphins hanging on for the 5-4 victory.
The Vikings machine kept rolling in Week 3 as Jose connected for 5 TDs to 5 different receivers ... the team just has too much talent!
The Rams defeated the Bengals in a less-heated rematch of last year's superbowl. Colin Carufel distributed the ball well with each receiver having at least one catch and one TD.
The Seahawks and Dolphins were locked up in a sea-saw affair until Big Ed Sheridan picked off a pass and "ran" it back for a TD. Stumbling ... bumbling ... rumbling.
The Patriots went crazy with the bombs as Mike Kot needed to complete only 6 passes to score 4 TDs.
Congratulations to the Patriots who have the league leaders in passing, receiving and defense!
The day started off slowly with the Rams and Raiders trying their best for the league's first 0-0 tie. The offense picked up for both teams as the Rams held on for the 4-3 victory.
The Vikings showed off their latest big-time player as they crushed the short-staffed Seahawks 6-1.
Mike Kot made a triumphant return to quarterback throwing 6 TDs in the Patriots 6-3 win over last year's 2nd place team - the Bengals.
The Dolphins lost their opener to the Seahawks, who played a 2nd game to balance out the schedule. NOTE: That 2nd game counts for standings and stats for the Dolphins, but does not count for the Seahawks.
